Editorial Policy
This page sets out the rule we hold every review, comparison and guide to: cover a product only when there is public material to judge it on, build each score from sources we name, and say plainly what we did not test. It is the method behind every page on the site. Read who writes them.
What we cover
We review three kinds of product. Digital products and services are sold on published terms, so we cover them as Reviews and line them up against each other in Comparisons. Physical goods are covered one at a time, as Reviews, and never in a head-to-head table: manufacturers rarely publish their specifications on a common scale, so a table of them would look comparable without being comparable.
A product gets a page only when there is enough public material to judge it on: the vendor’s own pricing and product pages, its documentation, and any named third-party benchmark or survey. Where that material does not exist, the product does not get a rating.
How these pages are written
Drafting here is assisted by AI. The editing is not. Every page is written to a brief, then checked against the sources it cites: each figure and claim is matched back to the vendor page or named third-party source it came from, and anything that cannot be traced is cut out before it is published. The person who does that check and approves the page is the operator of this site, and no page goes live without it.
That is why the byline reads “ElevenReview Editorial Team” rather than a named writer: it names who is accountable for the text, not who typed the first draft. We do not publish invented author personas, and we do not claim tests or credentials the site does not have.
How a rating is built
A rating is our assessment, not a measurement. We start from the criteria that matter for the product’s category, such as price and what each plan includes, the features that change what the product can actually do, the limits the vendor publishes, and how it is supported, then weigh the published facts against each other. Each review lists the criteria it scores and the sources behind them.
Scores are editorial judgment, not measurements
Nothing on this site is the result of a test we ran, and no page presents it as one. Where a criterion cannot be supported with a named source, we do not score it; where a claim has no source behind it, we leave the claim out, even when that leaves a review shorter.
Sources and dates
Every review states the sources it used and the date we last checked them. Facts that move, such as prices, free-plan limits and which feature sits on which plan, are taken from the vendor’s own pages in preference to any round-up of them, and are dated because they will change.
Where we cite a third party’s test or survey, we name who ran it and say what they measured. We do not turn someone else’s results into our own, and we do not describe a published figure as something we observed.
Independence
ElevenReview is funded by affiliate commission, set out in full in the Affiliate Disclosure. No vendor can pay for a rating, a place in a review, a comparison or a buying guide, and no vendor sees a page before it is published.
Where a product is ranked or labelled, the difference behind the label is a published fact, such as a feature present on one plan and absent from another or a documented limit. It is never the gap between two of our own scores.
Corrections and updates
Prices move, plans change and features get retired. When a page no longer matches what a vendor publishes, we update it and move its “Last updated” date forward. When the change is material, we note what changed and when, next to that article’s sources. If you spot something wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will look at it.
A business named in a comparison has a right of reply. An answer sent to us is considered on its merits: a point that corrects a fact changes the page, and where the reply is a different reading of the same published facts we may set that reading alongside ours. It is a route to a correction and never to a better score, it costs nothing to use, and the process for it is on the contact page.
