Who we are

ElevenReview is an independent review publication operating from Hanoi, Vietnam, and the controller of the personal data described here is ElevenReview itself. For anything to do with this policy or your personal data, write to support.elevenreview@gmail.com; the contact page explains what to include and how a request is handled.

What we collect

• Newsletter email address: if you subscribe, we store the address you give us, the date you subscribed and the date you confirmed it.
• Messages you send us: if you use the contact form, we store the address you give us, the topic you pick and the message itself.
• Server logs: the request data our web server keeps for security and to keep the site running.

We do not ask for your name, address, payment details or any account details. There is no login on this site, and nothing is sold here directly.

Why we collect it, and on what basis

We send the newsletter because you asked us to, which is consent; you can withdraw it at any time. We answer messages sent through the contact form, and use the details in them to correct a page or to handle a right-of-reply or data request, on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a publication that can be corrected and held to account. You are free not to use the form. We keep server logs to protect the site against abuse, on the basis of our legitimate interest in keeping it available and secure.

Cookies

This site sets no non-essential cookies. There is no analytics cookie, no advertising or tracking cookie, and no third party loads anything through these pages, so no consent banner is shown, because a banner would have nothing to ask about. The Cookie Policy sets out exactly what is stored and why.

Who we share it with

• Our email providers: the service that sends the newsletter on our behalf, and the mailbox provider that receives and stores messages sent through the contact form, both under a data-processing agreement.
• Affiliate networks: nothing about you is pushed to them from this site. What travels with an affiliate link is the identifier in the address itself, so a later purchase is credited to us; from the moment you land on the merchant’s page, their own policy governs. See the Affiliate Disclosure.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else’s marketing.

How long we keep it

We keep each thing only for as long as the purpose that justified collecting it lasts, and then delete it. The criterion is the purpose itself:

• Newsletter address: kept until you unsubscribe, and deleted after that. The record that you consented is kept for as long as we could be asked to prove the subscription was lawful.
• Contact messages: kept until the request has been dealt with and any correction it caused is on the record, then deleted.
• Server logs: held by our host rather than by us, and kept only for the short period the host needs to keep the site secure and to investigate an attack.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to receive it in a portable form, to object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, write to support.elevenreview@gmail.com with “Data request” in the subject; the contact page explains what to include. We answer within one month, as data-protection law requires, and we will tell you if a request has to take longer. You also have the right to complain to your local data-protection authority.

Transfers, children and changes

Some of our providers are outside your country, including outside the European Economic Area, and where that is the case we rely on appropriate safeguards for the transfer. This site is not aimed at children. If we change this policy we will update the last-updated date on this page and, for a material change, note what changed.
