Who we are

About ElevenReview

ElevenReview is an independent review publication for software and for physical goods. We do not run our own tests: we read what a manufacturer publishes, weigh it against testing from named third parties, and write down which sources we used and which questions we could not answer, so you can judge how much weight to give a score. Read our Editorial Policy.

What we actually do

Every review on this site starts from material that is public and checkable: the vendor’s own pricing and product pages, its documentation, and any third-party benchmark or survey we cite by name. We read those sources against each other, note where they disagree, and write the review out of what survives. Each review lists the sources it used, with the date we last checked them.

That is the whole method, and it is narrower than putting a product through a lab. We describe it that way on purpose: the difference matters when you are deciding whether to spend money, and you should be able to see which kind of review you are reading.

What we do not do

We do not buy, borrow or accept products to try. We do not run software for weeks and report what happened. Nothing on this site is a first-hand measurement, and no page claims to be one. When a number appears in a review (a price, a usage limit, a resolution, a noise figure), it came from a source named on that page, and we say who published it.

Scores are editorial judgment, not measurements

A rating on ElevenReview is our assessment, built from the sources a review names. It is not the result of a test we ran, and we never present it as one. Where we cannot support a claim with a source, we leave the claim out, even when that makes a review shorter than it would otherwise be.

Why not every product is reviewed the same way

Digital products and services are sold on published terms, which means two of them can be lined up on the same criteria. We do that in our comparisons. Physical goods are a different case: manufacturers rarely publish their specifications on a common scale, so a table of them would look comparable without being comparable. Those products are reviewed one at a time, and each review explains what the published specification does and does not tell you.

You will not find a head-to-head score for two vacuum cleaners on this site. That is a decision we made and hold to, not a limit of the software behind it.

How the site is funded

ElevenReview is funded by affiliate commission. When a link takes you to a vendor and you buy something, we may be paid for the referral. It costs you nothing extra, and it does not decide what we write.

No vendor can pay for a place in a review, a comparison or a buying guide, and no vendor sees a page before it is published. Where something is ranked or labelled, the difference behind the label is a published fact: a feature present on one plan and absent from another, a documented limit. It is never the gap between two of our own scores. Our Affiliate Disclosure sets out the full arrangement.

Who writes this

Reviews are written and maintained by the ElevenReview Editorial Team, and edited to the same standard across the site. We do not publish invented author personas, and we do not claim credentials the team does not hold. The byline says a team wrote it because a team did.

Drafting is assisted by AI and the editing is not: every page is checked against the sources it cites before it is published, and the operator of the site is accountable for what goes out. How that works is set out in our Editorial Policy.

Corrections

Prices move, plans change, features get retired. When a review no longer matches what a vendor publishes, we update it and move its “Last updated” date forward; when the change is material we note what changed and when. If you spot something wrong, tell us through the contact page and we will look at it.
